Dr. Shannon D. Vann
Dr. Shannon Dudley Vann grew up in Germanton and enjoys practicing
dentistry where she was raised. In 2001, she graduated Phi Beta
Kappa from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, having
earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with the Highest Distinction.
Having graduated with honors in 2005, Dr. Vann received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from UNC. After working in Raleigh for two years she returned home, joining Dr. Helsabeck in practice. Dr. Vann is very active in the community and in organized dentistry. She is a member of the Rural Hall Area Business Association, American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society and the Forsyth County Dental Society. Shannon has served in leadership positions in several of these organizations including President of the FCDS and President of the RHABA. Dr. Vann has also served on several boards and committees advocating for dental health. Her volunteer work includes NC Missions of Mercy Clinics, North Carolina Baptist Men Dental Buses, Sealant Projects and Community Care. She is the past chair of the Dental Advisory Committee for Forsyth Technical Community College dental programs and a board member for the NCDS Second District. She is currently the President elect for the NCDS Second District. She is very active in her church, Ardmore Baptist. She is married and has two sons that keep her very busy.

Dr. James Robert Helsabeck grew up in Rural Hall. After graduating
from Northwest High School, he attended Wake Forest College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
In 1972, Dr. Helsabeck received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Upon his graduation from dental school, he joined the practice with his father, Dr. Charles Robert Helsabeck. Dr. Helsabeck is very active in organized dentistry, the community and his church. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, North Carolina Dental Society, Forsyth County Dental Society, Second District Dental Society, Piedmont Society for Advanced Dental Study and is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. He has served as president of the FCDS, Second District Dental Society and PSADS. In the community, he has served as President of the Rural Hall Area Business Association, on the Board of Directors at the Northwest YMCA, on the Board of Directors for the Community Partnership for Dental Health and the Board of Visitors at Salem Academy and College. Dr. Helsabeck currently volunteers at Community Care as well as the Doctors Care, NC Missions of Mercy Clinics, Living Waters Clinic and the NC Baptist Men Dental Bus. He is very active in his Church, Rural Hall Moravian, and has served on the Board of Directors Mission Society Southern Province of the Moravian Church. He is married, has two daughters and three grandchildren.
